Welcome

Believe is a mental health initiative created by Sam Frost and her sister Kristine. Our ultimate goal with this site is to shine some much needed light on mental health and pave our way together with you through the darkness, so that we may all become the best versions of ourselves.

We believe in the power and strength of sisterhood, where we encourage women and young girls to stand side by side and build each other up with support, kindness and acceptance. This website is a safe digital home for you, to connect, inspire, educate and provide guidance to all of you who may be suffering. No matter how lonely it feels sometimes, always remember you are never alone.

We look forward to growing, learning and supporting each other every step of the way.

Thank you to everyone who has gone out of their way to reach out to me with messages of support and kindness. I have thousands of emails, texts, Instagram directs and even messages through friends from people who have passed on their support. Thank you!!

It’s a crazy time in the world right now. The ironic reaction to my video has just proved my point entirely - there is a clear division in society. Many are too scared to talk about how they’re feeling in fear of being harshly judged and criticised, which only isolates them further. 

It was a video about finding compassion for those around you, regardless of differing opinions.

Thousands of people are struggling with their mental health. Take one look at my inbox and you will realise that there is a mental health crisis happening right now in Australia. Too many people are taking their own lives. Too many people are suffering in silence. This angry and aggressive world is not one I want to be part of. 

Why are we turning on each other? 

Why are we not creating space to have open and healthy conversations? Why are we so quick to judge, bully and harass other people who may have a different view? There are some people who are just unsure how they feel just yet and are waiting to feel comfortable. 

This is brand-new territory for all of us. It is unreasonable to assume everyone is going to come to the same conclusion in the same time frame without concerns or hesitation. 

We need to be kind. We need to treat others with respect and compassion. You never know what personal struggles people are having behind closed doors. In this already frightening climate, we cannot turn against each other. 

When this is all over, will you be proud of how you treated people?

To Our Believe Community,

I know this is a challenging time for everyone in the world right now. My thoughts are with you all, especially to those who struggle with mental health issues. The instability and the unknown can be very triggering for us.

I caught up with the beautiful Christina Leggett, from Little Window Psychology to ask her some of your questions. Christina gives her tips for managing anxiety and creating routine and structure to help with our overwhelming emotions day to day. She also gives her advice for teens/parents with teens who are currently studying from home.

We are resilient humans. Those who have walked a treacherous path know the strength of our mind and soul. Some of us, are still walking in the darkness, desperately searching for light or maybe you are in this anxiety riddled territory for the first time. Regardless of where you have been or where you were going… when the foundation of our lives become unstable, the domino effect can be extremely damaging to our mental health. Now, more than ever we need to put measures in place to ensure we have a healthy mind, body & soul, so we can endure the unknown. Please make your mental health a priority.

I lost my mum to depression when I was 12 years old. My childhood was tough - waking up every day not knowing what mood my mum was going to be in, or if she’d even want to get out of bed. She suffered from depression as well as severe anxiety.
